All India Bar Examination, also known as AIBE, is conducted twice a year by Bar Council of India. The objective of The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is to examine an advocate’s capability to practice the profession of law in India. The AIBE assesses skills at a basic level, and is intended to set a minimum benchmark for admission to the practice of law; it addresses a candidate’s analytical abilities and understanding basic knowledge of law. After passing the examination candidate are awarded “Certificate of Practice” by the Bar Council of India. AIBE is conducted in 40 cities all across India. Candidates have 11 languages to choose for attempting the examination. Examination pattern is multiple choice questions and it is an open book exam.
The following are some of the tips that the aspirants must consider while preparing for the AIBE:
Plan your preparation
First of all, you should have a clear roadmap of planning as to how you are going to begin your preparation for AIBE. You need to identify the subjects given in the syllabus and then you need to plan as to which are the subjects that need to be completed first and which at later stage. The syllabus can be downloaded from the website of AIBE. You need to become well versed with this syllabus and exam pattern of the exam.
After going through the syllabus and considering the roadmap, now plan as to how much time would you devote to each of the subjects. Mind you to give more time to those areas of law which you consider difficult for you. The time should also be considered for the purpose of revision.
Refer best study material
For preparing AIBE, you must give special emphasis on the importance of bare acts. As the pattern of the exam is objective based, many questions are based on bare acts, therefore, you should be thorough with the reading of bare acts. Apart form it, you must refer your own notes for the specific subjects and practice MCQ books. Also, you should give special focus to subjects which consist more marks.
Previous year question papers and Mock tests
To be successful in AIBE, you should also refer to the previous question papers of AIBE that are available online and offline. You must analyse the type and pattern of questions which are being asked. Along with, taking mock tests also is not a bad idea. It will extensively help you to get familiar with the exam.
Revise before exam
As earlier advised, always brush up what all have you gone through before taking the final exams. Therefore, revision gives you an opportunity to cover those areas which you might have left in your preparation.
